Want to know my beauty secret? t’s Chanel! For me the Coco Mademoiselle Chanel perfume is like inspiration in a bottle. Now that summer is just around the corner, it’s time for a change of wardrobe, make-up and.. perfume! The classic glass bottle is so lovely it’s like art! I have the travel twist and spray and I take it with me everywhere I go. It’s small and so light, it’s perfect to take with you whilst travelling. I came across these pictures and video below, they express the scent so well. The new face of Coco Mademoiselle is Keira Knightley, isn’t she just perfect? Fashion Forecast

I LOVE shoes, it started young when I was just a little girl. My mom used to bribe me into going grocery shopping with her by saying we could first stop ‘try on shoes’ in the boutique nearby. Last week it became very clear, that this little girl is still inside me . Last week I worked as a shoe model on the GDS fair in Düsseldorf, and it was so exciting! Now don’t get me wrong, I know that I’m not a model. I do not meet up to the demands to be one, my parents did not give me legs that won’t end. They did gave me tiny feet, a thing many models are not able to say. And I don’t mean to sound bitchy. I mean, if you’re 1.80 m, clearly you would fall over with size 36 (eur).

At the GDS fair I got to try on the new FW 2011 collection. I know that we are all focusing on the new spring/summer collection. And we don’t even want to think about the fact that it will be winter this year. Just to give you an idea of the winter styles of 2011, here’s my fashion forecast!

This coming winter we will see chunky heels, platforms and wedges. And aren’t we grateful for this trend! Next to the fact that they are so glamorous,  they’re much more comfortable than the stiletto heel we all love and hate at the same time. The boots are laced-up military style, which is so edgy and wearable at the same time. Wellies are still in business this winter, I’m wonder if this is because we love water resistant footwear or because we still enjoy saying ‘wellies’. Another very noteworthy trend I spotted were the lace up flats. These adorable flats and cool studded sneakers, fit real nice in this winters boyfriend style. It looks like comfort is a popular word this winter. I’m not saying we should all be prepared for another winter of wearing only UGG boots (I’m also not saying we shouldn’t). Anyways, the sheepskin boots are still in style this coming winter! Frankly, I’m really happy about that!

Shopping tip: Fleur

I live in Rotterdam and we have loads of cool shops and boutiques. Today, I completely let myself loose at one of my favourite boutiques: Fleur. Acne, By Malene Birger, Patrizia Pepe, Designers Remix, Yarn Unit and many more wish-list brands are sold at Fleur. And I have some great news because they recently opened a webshop! But don’t let that stop you from visiting Rotterdam. I’ll make sure that I will post all the must-see and cutest places for you!

Fashion Therapy

It's just one of those days, it's time for some serious fashion therapy. For me this is a scientifically proven method to get out of whatever bad mood you are in. So this is how it goes; go to your favorite online fashion store and drop everything in the shopping bag like you're the new Victoria Backham. Then I add every item to my wish list and sleep on it. Because really.. spending your entire salary hardly sounds like the solution for whatever problem you might be having. If you have never done this, you should definitely try my fashion therapy! The result, from only one online shopping walhalla is presented down low. Tomorrow I’ll decide what fashion necessity will soon be welcomed into my already chock-full closet.

Black Swan

So I went to see the black swan yesterday. I still don’t know how I feel about the movie, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Besides the gruesome details and blood, which I particularly don’t care for. And the provocation of showing a lesbian sex scene, which was very lifelike, I have never seen Natalie Portman this excited. This movie went deeper than I could have imagined. The perfectionism Nina (Natalie Portman) dealt with was unbearable. I really felt for her, I believe we all have a white and a black swan inside us. And from what the movie taught me, I know we should make sure they get along. Although the movie portrays the ballet industry as an stressful world of only being able to eat half a grapefruit a day and bulimia, it left me with the desire to dance again. I started ballet when I was three, I wore my pink tutu and I loved it!  I wanted to be a prima ballerina, in that time also wanted to be a Christmas tree. Both my dreams failed, but I must admit, I still love the sweet style of ballet. I probably won’t start dancing again, but the movie did inspire my new spring/summer wardrobe collage. Don't you just love the romance in this style? Based on the white swan of course, I believe that the black swan will influence this seasons look just like dance has influenced fashion for years.
